Dave Chappelle has announced an intimate NYC show, happening this Thursday (7/18) at Gramercy Theatre. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, July 16 at 12 PM EDT, and as is typical with Chappelle’s shows, it’s a cell phone-free event. “With your confirmation, you agree to place your phone in a locked pouch which you keep throughout the evening,” a message from the venue reads. “If you need to use your phone, return to the distribution tent at the entrance. Anyone caught using a cell phone during the show will be immediately ejected.”
Chappelle is no stranger to Gramercy Theatre; it’s a venue he’s done shows, last minute and otherwise, at fairly regularly over the years, including in 2019 when a power outage cancelled his Broadway show; in 2018 at one of The Roots’ jam sessions; in 2017; 2016; and in 2015.
